Saving Preferences

KCvidkid wrote on 2/8/2006, 3:48 PM
I've just started using Vegas, Build 6a, after using Studio 8 software. I don't understand the preferences page. After changing preferences, it doesn't seem to save them. At least when I go back into the page, it goes back to the default. Is there suppose to be a "save" button at the bottom? Mine just has a "default" button. Or is the preferences saved until you re-enter the preferences dialog box. Can anyone help? I especially want to change the cut to overlap duration.

Pardon my ignorance, but I don't see any update to 6c, except the Sony Vegas. Isn't that the expensive software? I guess I don't understand.

Perhaps I should clarify. I am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 6a. Not the Sony Vegas. Can I still save preferences somehow?

Thanks

You posted your question in the Sony Vegas forum. Is your question in regards to another product? Please specify.

Edit: Just refreshed and saw your new post. Perhaps you might get more targetted responses to your question by posting in the Movie Studio forum.

The following is in regards to Vegas:

Also, if you're referring to saving your changes in Options>Preferences, then there should definitely be a row of buttons at the bottom of the Preferences dialog. They should read:

"OK", "Cancel", and "Apply"

"Apply" should only be clickable if you've changed something in the preferences. Pressing "OK" will also save your settings as well as close the preferences dialog.

Thanks for steering me to the other forum. There isn't any apply button. Perhaps I should remove and re-install it.

What is your screen resolution set to? I recall that another user had a similar problem while running at 800 x 600. Turns out that the OK / Cancel / Apply buttons were off the bottom of the screen. You may either need to bump your screen resolution or drag the dialog upwards to make the buttons visible.
