Saving Vegas 7 files to older version

I have a project edited in Vegas 7 (all footage in DV) can I save it so that I can open it in Vegas 5 and edit it?

No, but you could try copy and paste from the v7 project to v5 by selecting all events. I don't think going back two version will work, but give it a shot with some test veg. It's about the only shot you have.
