Use a product like Nero and choose data dvd and drag and drop the file to the burn section and then burn your disc.

Do you want to make a video DVD or do you just want to copy the file?

I am curious about this as well...I want to save files to DVD so that I could use the information on another computer or on the same computer at a later date.

If you've ever created a data CD-R then you already know how to do this. The burning software that came with your DVD burner will allow you to create data DVDs just as easily as data CDs, except that they hold about 4.7GB instead of 700MB.
