Saving Video Event FX with all keyframe data?

Using Sony VMS Platinum 6.0.

Though I have saved and applied Video Event FX in the past, I just started trying to do this with FX which have changes at keyframes. When I try to apply THESE presets, it appears that only the FIRST keyframe is being brought in.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this the way VMS works?

If it's the former, HELP!

If it's the latter, what workarounds can you suggest?

Keyframes aren't saved as part of the preset.
All you can do is copy/paste attributes. If you've got a setting you like, you can save it as an event, and copy/paste that event to the timeline. I have a veg that I use to store special settings on various events, such as light sweeps, etc.

Sounds good, but is this something that can be done in VMS Platinum 6? Sounds like a Vegas function, but I'll keep searching the help docs...

you can do the same in VMS. Make a .vf project that contains various events effected/keyframed the way you'd like them to be, and then copy/paste from one instance of VMS to another.

Thanks a lot. Until I just tested your suggestion (yep, it works), I had never had multiple instances of VMS open. (Duhhh.) I _had_ been trying to copy an object from one project, close the project, open new project, and paste -- and that didn't work.

It is very odd that SONY Media Software applications clear the copy buffer when they exit. I don't know of any other software that does that.

MS Office apps do, but they have the decency to ask first!

That must be the newer versions. I'm still on Office 97 here (and see absolutely no reason whatsoever to spend a single penny to go beyond it). It neither asks when exiting nor clears the buffer.
