scanning

I just scanned a lot of pictures and did not notice on thumbnails something was on glass of scanner.It is like a smear and it shows up on most of pics.My question is will paint shop pro or other programs remove like they do scratches or artifacts or is the best thing to do start over?

There will probably not be an automatic fix for this since it will affect each photos quality a little differently. I think the time you spend trying to fix will probably be equal to rescanning.

Thank you .I adjusted contrast and brightness and saved them.I have never had this problem before I t was mostly on the color black.I wonder if it has something to do with scanner resolution? Oh well.The pics were wedding proofs . 256 pictures, whew!
