Whenever you first install Vegas and start it for the first time it scans for plugins. Every time you install a new plugin (which has an effect on your registry) Vegas scans again for the new plugin. What is happening is that you probably installed a plugin that Vegas does not like or recognize. Try to find out which one it is and uninstall it.
Sometimes a full reinstall of Vegas (after you uninstalled, and manually deleated Vegas folders and set up folders) can fix the problem.
Hope this helps.
