Scene Detection NOT working..

Different to most scene detection issues, I think..

I have a tape recorded on a VX2100 and when I try to capture with Vegas, with scene detection enabled, I just get one big file, instead of lots of them. The only issue I can think of is that I remember that the clock wasn't set on the VX2100... would that make a difference??

Indubitably. The tape needs the segmented timecode. This gives the INs and OUTs of the clip when you hit that big red button to start and stop. If that clock isn't set, then you wont have the INs and OUTs. Also worth checking the camera's system battery too.

YES - that makes a difference. The clock MUST be set for scene detection to work.
