Is the clock set on the Sony?

I can't try it just now, but do you realy think that will solve it?

If the clock is not set, the scene detect routine cannot find jumps in the date/time to determine whether a new scene has started. If the clock is not set, set it and scene detection will start working on future tapes recorded in that camera. As for your current tape, you are stuck with manually splitting it.

Sorry jetdv, maybe I was not clear, it's not a camera I'm using but the Sony 1000 player/recorder. When I use the Canon Camera it's OK.

I was looking at the Help file in VidCap, it says batch scene detection only works with DV cameras, so it's possible that a DVR doesn't encode the data needed by VidCap to recognize the start/stop points.
