Scene Selection Menu does not work

Hello, i've created my project within DVD Architect and it adds the main 'Play All' button by default and i also chose to add a "insert scene selection menu." button. This seems to work fine within the project and correctly creates the sub menu with all my chapters listed. When the DVD is burnt and played on a normal home dvd player though (i've tried 2 different players) the remote control navigation buttons (left, right,up,down etc) do nothing and dont move through the different chapters so its impossible to select anything bar the first chapter which is highlighted by default.

How do i set the scene selection menu so the chapters can be selected using the remote like a normal DVD?

Thanks.

That's odd. There is a menu in DVD Architect that lets you specify whether the remote control can actually control various things. You can choose to disable certain functions, like the menu button or the chapter advance buttons. However, these are supposed to all be enabled by default. I would certainly start by going back to your project and making sure these buttons are all enabled. Just double-click on any of the media files shown in the left hand project window in DVDA, and then in the right-hand area, click on "Remote Buttons." Make sure "Previous/Up" is on.

Another thing to do is to click on the Preview button at the top of the screen and navigate through your DVD within DVDA. Don't use the mouse, but instead use the keys on the keyboard. If you can navigate there, but can't navigate on the standalone DVD players attached to your TV set, and if the Remote Buttons are enabled, then I'm stumped.

I'm just a beginner & have just recently been experimenting with adding scene selection (DVDA v.3). On my first try I noticed that, although selection on the computer worked (using mouse clicks), on the DVD player there weren't any highlights to show which menu item I was on (I had converted the buttons to text only). Menu navigation did work, though; it's was just sort of 'blind' -- no way to see where I was but counting as I went I could navigate with the player's remote. Came here to search posts to remedy this situation (& it seems complicated). A simple moving arrow would do. Well, back to my search.

Select your buttons and go to the Highlight tab of the Properties window. What is the Style property set to? It should be either rectangle, image rectangle, or underline. The other settings either require an image button or need a mask specified.

Also go to the menu's Properties window (click on the background of the menu so no buttons are selected) and check the General tab. Make sure a Color Set is selected for the Selected Button Colors property. If it says None, then that's why you're not seeing any highlighting.

Durbs -- you ever solve this? The behavior you're looking is normally the default in DVDA.
