Scene selection menu does not work on dvd-player

I used a single mpeg2 movie, set the chapters in the movie and added a scene selection menu with all the default settings. This I previewed and looked fine for a first test. Then I burned it to a DVD+RW and put it in my DVD-player. The DVD starts with the main menu but when I select the scene selection menu it runs through the pages and then my DVD-player stops.

I tried the DVD in my pc and it all works OK. What can be wrong?
My DVD-player is a brand new Pioneer DV-360 and my burner is a Sony DRU-500AX.

Can't help ya.

I have actually seen this problem in reverse.

I'll create a DVD looks fine in preview mode - burn the DVD play it on my PC - and can't play the movie...but it works fine in my DVD player.

The fact that it works in your PC makes this behavior puzzling. Pioneer DVD players are usually rock solid when it comes to compatibility.

However, I have seen many disks that navigate differently in the PC (using WinDVD as my player) than they do on the set top player. It sounds like your submenu somehow got linked as a movie rather than as a navigation aid.

I have found several bugs, which I have reported, having to do with the creation of scene selection menus. While I've never experienced the behavior you describe, I suspect you may be running into some corollary of that bug. In each case when I've experience a problem with the scene selection menu, the solution was to go back to DVDA, delete the scene selection menu, and then re-create it (right click on the main movie and select "Insert Scene Selection Menu"). Try this and see if it works.

I've done that already but it does not help. What other software is there to make good menu's because I was trying DVDA as the standard software with my burner Sonic-MyDVD is to basic for what I want.
