"Scene Selection" scenes - End Actions?

Is it possible for a "scene", from a Scene Selection menu, once played, reverts to the Scene Selection Menu? Only the LAST scene once played gets me back. Having 6 Scenes, click on "6" and I get back - click and play "3" and it goes straight into "4" after playing.

You have to do things a little differently to make it work this way. You now have your project set up so that each menu points to the same object. That object is your big media file, which contains chapter markers. Each menu simply points to a different entry point into that same media file. The file always plays to the end.

Since you want to only play just that one section, you instead have to point to a media file that contains that one section. Fortunately, you don't have to re-encode anything. Instead, simply copy the media file six times (if you have six scenes). Put these copies in the project list somewhere at the top, outside of your menu section. For each file, set the "out" point equal too the start of the next chapter. That will cause the media to stop playing at that point, and it will return to the last menu (or however you have the end point set). Even though you have duplicated the media six times, DVDA will only put it on the disc once, so you won't require any additional storage.

Now, if you want to have the last menu item highlighted when you return (or the next menu item highlighted), that is a little trickier, but it can be done.

One thing I've noticed is this method works, but on my desktop player, if you are in the middle of a scene and hit the "NEXT" button, in theory to skip to the end of the chapter, it does not go back to the menu, but does go on to the next chapter. If you allow the scene to finish playing on its own, it will go back to the menu at the end.

In the preview in DVDA, it does go back to the menu when hitting the "NEXT" button, so it's a little confusing as to the final outcome.

I would say that going to the next scene would probably be the desired action, since that is what "next" would mean to most people. To have next go back to the menu would seem very very odd. One can always use the menu button to go back to the menu and this would be sensible since menu equals, well ... menu. It would be nice if the preview and the finished DVD had the same behavior though.

It would be nice, but unlikely. Behavior of the "next" button in such a situation varies from player to player (or, more likely, manufacturer to manufacturer in most cases, player to player in some).
