Anyone know how to capture from the pc monitor screen to make a video - like the ones that have a video tutorial showing showing how to use vegas (for example)?

If I understand your question correctly - then you maybe can use Alt+PrintScreen and thereafter paste it to i.e. Windows Paint.
Use PrintScreen without Alt to get a copy of the full screen.
This way, however, only makes stills.
