Screen Recording (.MP4 file on MacOS) Audio not in sync VEGAS Pro 17

yemenite wrote on 2/3/2024, 3:06 PM

Hello, I screen record my livestreams on an M1 MacBook air then I move that file into Sony Vegas Pro 17 on Windows 10. However, the audio is never in sync. When I open to view this file on any media player on any os system, the video plays fine and the audio is in sync. However, when I import it into Sony Vegas Pro 17, the audio magically goes out of sync.

Temporarily, I ungroup the video and audio tracks and move it every so slightly to sync it. Is there an actual fix to this problem?

Here's the media info from the file compared to how Vegas reads it.

Your screenrecording has Variable Framerate and Vegas software does not like that.
You have first to convert that file into steady framerate (f.i. 30fps) through a free program like Shutter Encoder or Handbrake.
BTW.: Sony Vegas does not exist anymore, the owner is Magix

This variation is extreme for a screen recording- can you try other software that can get it right to begin with?
