Screen zoom?

Spot|DSE wrote on 4/27/2004, 8:29 PM
Anyone seen a tool that works on the PC as a screen zoom tool? On my Powerbook, there is a feature where I can press shift+z and zoom my screen in by a preset amount, to more closely see fine detail. I've looked around the web a bit, can't find anything like that for the PC except one product whose name I've forgotten, that runs pretty heavy in the background, thus killing PHotoshop.
Any ideas? Help?

PSP uses the mouse wheel to zoom in/out, but I don't know if Photoshop has this possibility.

Doug--check this site out--not sure if this is what you are looking for:

This tool used to be built into a lot of display drivers (maybe they still are?). Thanks for the link rex, I was just thinking about this very topic when someone mentioned that another NLE has this feature built in, except it actually shows you more resolution on the timeline instead of magnifying pixels. Sounds kind of cool.

Windows XP has a tool called Magnifier but you might want something else that has more adjustments.

Spot,

Check out Virtual Magnifying Glass 2.00. It looks like it might just do what you want and its free (open source). It's just like a real magnifying glass. Very cool. Another program which has a larger window for zooming is Zoom+.

Photoshop (7) allows zooming with the mouse wheel. ALT+wheel will zoom in beyond the limitations of the project window.
