Screencast software

I am doing a series of screencasts on Paint Shop Pro X2 and I have made a setup using Cam Studio 2.5 for screen and voice recording, then importing the video into Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum for editing and processing.

CAM Studio works really well in In Windows XP, it is freeware and you can get it here: http://www.download.com/CamStudio/3000-13633_4-10067101.html

CAM Studio has the option of recording a selected window and to be able to make the window an exact size I found another great little freeware tool called SIZER that allows you to specify the size of a window. You can get it here:
http://www.brianapps.net/sizer.html

When the video gets the exact size of 1024x768 I can make a template in VMS and that makes rendering a lot easier. I'm using divX codecs at the moment and the results are really good (and 1/10 of the original AVI file size), I'm using VLC (another great piece of freeware) to watch the movies.

I hope this info can be of use to someone - or maybe there's an even better way of doing this?

best regards

JimR
