Script for the VP22 new explorer refresh issue

I am thinking of writing a one click script for addressing the issue of the not always working refresh action of the new explorer in VP22 (most of the time it does not update new media files if added while Vegas is active, focused or not).

One workaround is to exit Vegas and launch it again, an better alternative is to exit the explorer tab, and enable it again in the view, then refresh.

It is the alternative workaround I want to automate with a script:

- exit the explorer tab
- launch it again (e.g. put it back into view)
- refresh the contend (circled arrow button)

Can anyone help with that before I try myself, as I do not want to re-invent the wheel?

The new explorer window only seems to "refresh" the first time you enter a folder or when you click on the "refresh" button. Hopefully that will change in the future. It's certainly a known issue with the developers.

@jetdv I do not mind clicking the refresh button - if that would work - most of the time it does not, hence the desire for a script that would save me going to the workaround with many clicks...

@jetdv Not to me, I just tried it again to make sure it is not a fluke, but on my system, with my settings and OS it is definitively reproducible (besides I have experienced the issue countless times before in VP22). I am on window 11 - version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.4249).

To reproduce: make a new directory in windows, Vegas is open and the refresh button works, the new empty folder is visible in Vegas, next minimize Vegas, next select e.g. two .jpg files from another folder, paste those in the new empty folder, maximize Vegas, press the refresh, nothing happens, I can press the refresh button like morse code, but the view stays empty...

@jetdv I just spotted something, I hope it is not a fluke, but the issue seems to linked to folders which are placed under "Favorites" in Vegas.

When going to folder by the Vegas explorer via the normal way (so not using favorites) then the refresh button works. If going via Favorites, the refresh does not work. I must confess I use favorite folders quite a lot, hence maybe my issue...

@bitman, I just use the drive browser to navigate to the desired folder. While I've used Favorites a couple of times, that's not my normal practice. I'll have to experiment a little with that. FYI, I was able to duplicate this. The direct pointer to the folder properly refreshed and was correct, the "Favorites" pointer to the folder was incorrect and would not change. So I had two methods of looking at the same folder and two different results.

@jetdv Thanks, that confirms it, it is a reproducible bug...

@VEGASDerek Could you add this to the list of bugs to fix (refresh button on the new explorer does not work for folders and files which are placed and viewed under the "favorites")
