Script & .Net problems with Vegas 4

Hi.

Posting for my cousin who doesn't have Net Access at the moment (but I built his system so I can answer anything about it).

He is running Vegas 4.0 and want to run the script files (BatchRenderGUI and RenderQueue specifically) so he can render stuff during the night. He has installed .Net Framework v1.1 redistributable but when he goes to load the script file from the Vegas menu, it tells him that .Net Framework can't be found and that he should load it !!

I'm in PC Support and I've had a look and I can't figure it out. We have installed and re-installed .Net, but Vegas doesn't seem to pick it up.

Help please ! Any hints appreciated !

uninstall and reinstall Vegas. Then it will see your .NET installation.

. . erm Ed? I'm getting my new pc with my V4 already loaded. They haven't loaded .NET on it. Do you think I too will run into problems? When I first got V4 and loaded it on my laptop, I then dowloaded and load up .NET on it. As you are aware, I didn't have a problem . . . I wouldn't wish to uninstall and reinstall V4 on a brand new pc - urrggh . .

This situation does not happen in EVERY instance.

When you get your new machine, install .NET. If scripts work then you are fine. If they don't, the ONLY solution I know of is to uninstall and reinstall Vegas.

Why can't they load .NET before installing Vegas?

Well I got him to try it he unistall and re-install and it worked.
