Script Request for 2 pass Mpeg-4 Encoding

I purchased Batch Render Pro a few months ago to use for encoding multiple projects using the 3ivx codec.

The work flow I currently use is as follows.

1. Import source to timelines.
2. Right click and select events to end.
3. Right click and disable resampling.
4. Render .WAV file ( later converted to Mpeg-4 AAC
5. Render custom 3ivx .AVI 1st pass file
6. Render custom 3ivx .AVI 2nd pass file.

BRP did these things well. The only quirk I had with it was that after each render, BRP re-opened the project which took some time (i.e test.veg would be rendered to .wav and then BRP would re-open the same project even though it was already opened on the timeline.) Last quirk was that you had to manually add steps 4-6 for each conversion. Not that big of a deal if you only have a couple projects to convert but hell if you have a lot of projects for conversion.

Isnt it possible that we can get a script for Mpeg-4 rendering that uses custom profiles for the mpeg-4 crowd? What I am envisioning is something simple that refers to the spefici profile(s) needed and can be clicked and asks for file name and location of file to be stored.

I am sure others that would like to do Mpeg-4 rendering would appreciate the script as well.

Thanks

If you save a batch where each render is set to "Currently open project" you won't have to do step 4-6 each time and the project won't re-open on each render. The next time you open the saved batch, it will use that currently open project (not the project you had open before).

There may be something in your workflow I'm misinterpreting, but I hope I got it right.

ah, I see now. Thanks Roger. Looks like I am good to go. Will the current version of BRP work in VV5?

I have a beta for V5: www.rmtools.se

The beta and the final version will be free for all current Batchrender Pro users.
