script request or assistance

Hello all,

I'm new to the scripting world, but I've been using Vegas for close to 10 years. I've finally gotten fed up with manually setting the audio device settings when I arm for record, and I was wondering if there was a quick and easy way to do this with a script function.

Since I use a firewire device for recording audio, but a different device for mixing the audio later, every time I connect to the firewire device I need to re-select it in the audio devices tab, and then arm each track for recording and select the proper track input again for every single track. My firewire device lets me record up to 24 different inputs at a time, so this becomes very tedious and stressful when I'm in a hurry to get the recording started.

My apologies in advance if this has already been answered in another thread. I spent the last 2 or so hours searching the archives and did not seem to find any similar questions.

Thanks.

There is no access to audio inputs via scripting so this could not be done with a script.

Johnny, thanks for the update. That's a bummer they don't have the ability to get into those depths of things, but oh well.

I don't if this would work because I haven't tried it but what about setting up all your tracks and then saving it as an empty project (before the recording takes place), then every time you want to use it, you can just open the empty project with the tracks set up ready to go. (And Save_as new name before doing anything, so that you retain your empty project for next time).
