Script Toolbar Icons in V8

It used to be you could create a little PNG file and name it the same as the script and it would show up on the toolbar instead of the default icon. Though it always seemed buggy, it sorta did work... sometimes. I find that with V8 it doesn't work at all.

Anyone know the magic words for creating these icons now?

From the "What's new in Vegas Pro 8 (scripting)":

* Script and Custom Command icons must now be provided in 32-bit PNG
files. Previously, 8-bit files would work (sort-of) but led to
invalid toolbar and menu gyphs. The images must also now be exactly
16 pixels wide and 16 pixels tall.

Gilles? Was there another need to make ONE of the pixies transparent? Something akin to that?

Good answer...but how does one create a 32 bit PNG? I don't see an option for that in Corel Paint. When I convert the image to 32 bit I no longer get the option to save as PNG. I've googled this question and read online the even photoshop guys can't figure it out.

In PaintShop Pro, I forced it to 32-bit by adding a single transparent pixel (as Grazie mentioned). This technically isn't necessary if you can get it to output a 32-bit png without doing so.

Got it. This time I saved the same way but checked the transparency button and now they show up. I also note that you can no longer use the 16x32 hover over image option. Thanks.
