Scripts

I have several scripts assigned their own hot key number, although I only
have three up on the Tool Bar that I use. My Number One is
Excalibur 2.0, Number Three is Renderinterleaved, and Number Five is
Match Aspect Ratio. I want to change Number Three to Number Two, and
Number Five to Number Three. Doing it the way I installed Excalibur doesn't
seem to work. Can someone please help me with this? I have Neon 1.0 on
the way and have a funny feeling that I'll want to put it as Number Two.

I can't for the life of me, remember how I originally set this stuff up.

Thanks in advance.

As long as you can find the .js file, you can assign it to your keys with Ctrl/Shift/#key.

I'm not sure of this but you can go into the options menu and pick toolbar, then rearrange the order that the buttons appear.

However, I think what you want to do: Renumber and Rearrange on Toolbar is going to be a 2-Level procedure:

1 - Remove from Toolbar OR Assign a different Script

2 - Rearrange on Toolbar

The reason for step 2 is that you need to assign the same number you will get it in the same place on the Toolbar. And yes, using the Customise Toolbar you can shuffle the scripts into their logical position. BUT if you want a different script on THE same number as you had you will need to assign a different script.

Simply put Steps:

1 - Presently: Scripts 1 thru 3

2 - Presently: Buttons 1 thru 3

3 - Assign "New" script to say 1

4 - But you want it to appear in the "old" 3 position

5 - Shuffle the Buttons to where you want "1"

6 - You now have buttons number ranging from left to right: 2, 3, 1

7 - BUT you now want to give the Buttons a logical number order. You will now have to re-number the buttons in the way you want them number, do this by repeating "Step 3"

8 - Lie down in a dark room!

Now, there is most likely a better more efficient step procedure than above. I'm putting this up here for you and others to comment on. I guess the way to knockout some of the steps above is to sit down with a piece pf paper and determine WHAT number script you want WHERE. Renumber as explained and if they are in the WRONG position re-shuffle them using the Customise Toolbar and move the script buttons UP<>DOWN. Having the piece of paper will also give you the option to return to your original position and script assignment - confused? Wasn't what I intended - promise!

Gave it a try and it worked. Thanks so much for your help. I can't tell you how hard I've been banging my head to solve this problem.

Thanks again.

Hiyah Dwuane! - Yeah, it's great when you can get something to work -in THE way you wanna it to work . . I was a bit circumspect as to the "fiddly" procedure I offered, but yes, it does work. Maybe you could spruce up the procedure steps, but in principal, it's there - yeah?

Glad to be of help .. .

BUT what we REALLY need is a Vegas "Script Window" just like Media Pool; Transitions; FXs etc etc . . and then have those scripts assigned to a "recognisable" Icon - yeah?

Regards,
