Try to think of something you have to do over and over and over again (like wanting to delete from the cursor to the end of the event). Everyone has a unique editing style, so the editing "move" you make a lot may not be something I do very often. However, the neat thing about writing your own script is that it can help YOU. So, I cannot give you advice on what you will find useful, but I can tell you that looking at your workflow and finding the thing that you do a lot, or that takes a long time to do, or which is error-prone would be a good candidate for a script.
