Scrolling credits

Ok, so they've improved on the scrolling credits. However, now I can't seem to slow them down to an appropriate rate. In v1.0, all I had to do was slide the video segment over and all was well. Now, with all the new stuff, when I do that, I only get a repeat. And if I stretch it (hold crtl and move it over), it slows it down, but half the credits are missing. I've also tried adjusting the numbers (I fergit what that box is called), and get the same ill effect. I cannot figure this one out.

Basically what I need to do is type in my full credits, then slow them down to however slow I want, and still have them all scoll all the way up without cutting off the end, or even half of the credits!

Any help? Thanx!

I have encountered the same problem. Are you using the new VF2.00 plug-in in effects or pan and crop? I could not find any information for VF2.00 in help or any of the documentation for this version.

I don't see your problem. You're on the right track though with using CTRL key to stretch the event. If you're missing credits, then you've probably shortened the event somehow. Just stretch it back to its full length by grabbing the right edge and pull it to the right until you see the little triangle dimple at the top of the event. This is where the event starts to repeat. Return the end of the event to where the dimple is and then use the CTRL key to stretch it to the desired length.

Ok, I figured it out right after posting this topic! For those having the same problem, heres what to do...

In the videofx dialog of your credits, go to the "general" tab. At the bottom, is a field called "playback rate." Lower that value, probably by half as a starting point, then go back to the timeline, and stretch the event over (NOT with ctrl!), as far as it will go before it begins to repeat. Then test it. If its not right, then adjust the value, and the stretching until you get it where you want it. You will need to stretch the event to match the playback. As I've said, you will know when it matches by the "breakpoints" that show up when you've stretched too far, and the event starts to repeat.

Remember that when stretching the event, you don't need to do it with the crtl key. Just grab the right edge, and slide it over until it starts to repeat, then move it back to that point.

Sorry for not knowing exactly what all of this is called, but I think I explained it pretty well, if not, let me know what yer having trouble with. This worked beautifully for me!!

And yes, I couldn't find ANYTHING about scrolling credits in the new documentation for 2.0. Nadda, zero, zip, zilch!!

There's and easier way. Just drag the event to whatever length you want. Then in the "Text/Backdrop" tab of the Video Event Properties window, click on the button to the right of the "Media Length" to set the media length to the event length.

I just upgraded from Version 1 so I'm still figuring this stuff out. Very cool stuff though.

Jimcho- that's thre way to do it! Match media length.
