Scrolling Marquee

Is it possible to create a vertically scrolling marquee, similar in performance to the "credit roll" that comes with Vegas Movie Studio 4.0a, but without the restrictions imposed on the text layout? I'd like to be able to create a standard text object with full control over the text layout, and then have it scroll upward like the "credit roll."

I thank you in advance for any response or suggestions.

Yes!

Create your text object as tall as necessary, hundreds of lines if you wish. Use the Placement tab to move the top of the text beneath the bottom of the frame, then click End and use Placement to move the text above the top of the frame. The text will scroll from bottom to top for the length of the event.

Thank you. It works just as you said.

But is there a way to slow down the rate of scrolling?

Make the event longer. You can stretch it out as long as you need it to be.

For some reason, stretching it only causes the text to repeat but the speed of scrolling stays the same. Totally unlike the behavior of a picture object.

Hold down the CTRL ey when you stretch - Kelly was talking about a time stretch, which needs the CTRL key.

Thank you both. That's exactly what I was looking for.
