Scrolling Text - Not Credits

I have a large body of text which accompanies narration spattered throughout my envisioned video, and it's in paragraph style. Currently I have the 'video' in PowerPoint Slideshow format, but would like to transition into more of a true streaming video format. I thought I might use Vegas 5.0. Can anyone suggest the best way to tackle the scrolling text aspect of it?

If you want to scroll a static block of text on the screen you can use keyframes in the Placement tab. Start the text off the screen (presumably below the bottom) at the beginning of the text event. Place a new keyframe at the end of the event and move the text off the top of the screen. It will now scroll upwards while it plays.

If you don't want the text block to fill the whole screen you can use track motion to reduce it to a smaller rectangle and place it wherever you wish.

. . you may need to "force" it off the screen by entering a BIG -ve number . . . can't remeber which way . . I use this method all the time. Produces nice even scrolls of sometimes Humungus proportions . .

Boris would also be great for this. Bring a word file in, format the text and you are in business.

On their website Boris has a tutorial on "Star Wars" text introduction. They add a fade in from the bottom, a fade out at the top, and a 3d ish perspective.

Can you tell me how I can import the Borix Graffiti scrolling text into Vegas Video then, such that it will have a transparent background and allow the background picture to be visible?
