Scrolling titles with V5 question

Using Media Generators and Credit Rolls, I want to make a title that scrolls along the bottom of the screen over my events.

The closest thing to what I need is the timed scroll, however it appears on a frosty white background and I need it to be transparent. In fact there are a few other credit rolls that I'd like to use over my own events, but they all have coloured backgrounds.

Why doesn't Vegas have all credit rolls on transparent , leaving the editor free to use whatever background they choose? Am I missing something? Could be that I'm having a brain mal, as I'm sure I used the one with a blue preset background over an event and the event was not effected, but can't for the life of me recall how I did it and have been searching and playing with this for over an hour.

I don't want to create anything in Word, a titling program (which I don't have) or any other program - just with Vegas. Is is possible?

thanks for any replies.

In the Credit Roll generator, click on the Styles tab, click the Background Color button, and change the Alpha (A) to 0. The background will now be transparent.

Aaaargh! Tried that before, but unless I'm doing something wrong, the coloured background remains - only the letters go transparent and that's not what I want at all.
Thanks for your help anyway. If you have any other ideas, would be grateful to hear from anyone.

Are you sure you're adjusting the Background Color button, down near the bottom right area of the window? It sounds like you're adjusting the Text Color button in the upper right corner instead.

THAT'S IT!! That little button was hidden on the bottom of my screen the whole time. That must be how I had done it before - only just last week if you can imagine.

Thank you soooo much - you have restored my faith in good 'ol Vegas!
