I'm going off of memory here, but I believe if you select the media FX (little film icon on the media event), you can set duration of the media to however many seconds you want it to be, and the scroll will slow down accordingly.

Another option might be to ctrl-drag the end of the event to slow speed down.

No that is certainly where one would believe it is, but it is not. I have clicked on the "?" and gone through the describtion of every funtion on the media FX. Everything has to do with the look of the characters. Does not even mention that it can or can't be adjusted.

Does version 8 have the feature?

Version 1 had this feature. In the window where you enter the Credit Roll text there is a field at the top for "Length". In fact all the text generators have this. Type in whatever length you want there. Unfortunately Vegas won't automatically extend the event on the timeline to match the new length so you'll have to drag (not Ctrl-drag, just regular drag) the end of the event out to that length as well.

Cheinworks, I just finished up a credit scroll and I believe you're correct on how to adjust time. At least in VMS 8. Wouldn't it be great if VMS locked what you had to scroll to the beginning and end of the frame object? Then expanding the scroll, expanded the time? It seems to make too much sense.

Well there's many other things I'd change about the credit scroll, but lets start there.

Yes thanks that worked great.

I would settle for the them explaining the Length field in the Help screen. They make no mention of it at all that I could find

That is exactly what I was talking about. Sorry if I wasn't clear, since it didn't seem to help ohouse find it. But the problem is solved now, so no worries.
