Scrubber and Capture Tape

Former user wrote on 8/16/2001, 8:16 AM
I just received Version 2, I was using Version 1.

I noticed that the Scrubber control is missing. Did they remove this feature or am I missing something?

Also, when I capture tape, my camcorder (sony dcr-trv103) will rewind to head, but then nothing happens. The tape does not roll nor does the computer capture. Is there another step involved. (It captures fine if I use clip capture). And is clip capture the same as tape capture if I manually rewind.

thanks for any help

I got an answer to the Scrubber. Although scrubber doesn't exist in VF2, you can still use the hotkey to scrub video and audio. Had to look in my VF1 manual to figure it out. The VF2 manual is worse than VF1.

The Capture Tape function does not work on my system. It only rewinds the tape and stops. Does it work for anyone else?

Thanks for your help.

The scrubber (if you mean that bar under the tracks that contols the playback rate) is still in VF 2, it is just disabled.

Other VF 1 functions mysteriously disabled include Preivew Window Quality and the Tirmmer. They can be easily re-enabled, but they might have been disabled for a reason.

The only "feature" from VF 1 I noticed permanently gone is the dockable windows. I think, as soon as certain bugs are fixed (i.e., audio sync problems), VF 2 will be hands-down better than VF 1.

Thanks for information. Actually I do have access to the trimmer on the tabs. It is on the far right tab.

I also have access to the scrubber using ctrl-drag across timeline. It is more of a pain to use, but it works just as well. I liked having the slider control.

Preview is a mystery. My preview is very blocky. It seems they really scaled back some features on VF2. And then added Cd burning, which I have other very good software for that. Oh, well I do like the capturing a full tape and scene detection.

Such is progress.
