SCS error report suggests VP10e as a fix for VP10e

This is somewhat pathetic:

VP10e crashes and wants to send an error report. After accepting (and sending) it says:

"An update to Vegas Pro software is now available. Version 10.0e includes numerous fixes and improvements. Click here to download the free update Note: Please exit the application before running the installer."

The error reporter "intelligence" is not very high if it suggests the same error manifested version - that caused the failure in the first place - as a bug fix upgrade? Or did I get something wrong? Sorry if this subject has been covered already, didn't want to spend time searching for this in my frustration...

oh dear :(

Certain you are running 10e? sorry, have to ask the obvious thing.

Paul.

I have incurred in the same error.
Verified that I am running 10e.

Waiting for a better update of VP10.

I am not "upgrading" to VP11 based on past results.

Certain I'm running 10e (both 32 and 64 bit versions), also running VP11 520/521 versions. Or should I say - I would like to run...

I find myself using the VP9 a lot (glad that I never removed it), it just works so much better without crazy problems... OK, I'm missing some features, but as long as I get work done that's my rescue. I think we all would deserve a VP10f "most serious bug fix release" - meanwhile we are waiting that SCS gets VP11 fixed... Its a little sad that two paid updates are so manifested with...mildly put... so many crazy things...that I want to avoid the as long as possible...

Could be that if you have 11 installed it messes something up in a shared folder that makes 10 think you're not using release "e".

It happens to me too.

The same: "please update to 10.0e" after a problem is seen om my machine too.

Anyone from SCS? please.

I've seen the same issue.

What are you doing to get it to crash? I have 10e and have never gotten a screen telling me to upgrade, just a "send crash report". 10e barely crashes for me any way.
