Here's a workaround for CDA in Windows XP that worked for my SAF 8020 SCSI. Try it with your IDE.

Provided your burner is compatible with CDA...

Right click on My Computer
Choose Properties, Hardware, Device Manager
Highlight CD Burner
Right click-choose “disable”
Close, OK

Fire up CD Architect and presto!
CDA should now recognize your burner.
Worked for me.
