By cleverly trimming and crossfading events I've been able
to build Vegas Audio projects that loop perfectly
seamlessly. These would be very useful for web, game
development and music applications.
At least in theory. When I render the wave (even
with "Render Loop Region Only" setting on), Vegas
introduces a short bit of silence to the beginning of the
project. This means I first have to render the file in full
quality, open it in Sound Forge, manually pinch out the
silence (and do some additional loop.tweaking), and THEN
save it to desired format (such as 22050Hz ADPCM), which is
a hassle.
Using effects that have feedback with latency (notably,
reverbs) introduce an additional problem. Those obviously
cannot be made to loop.
Now... do you have any tips regarding making perfectly
looping sounds, or would Sonic Foundry perhaps be willing
to add some handy looping utilities?
