Seasonal thoughts ...

PeterWright wrote on 12/23/2008, 10:34 PM
Hey, we've tolerated each other for another year!

Like all families. we've quarrelled, challenged and supported and each other at different times, shared plenty of good and bad advice (mostly good?), laced with touches of humour, and like my family here, I'm glad to know you're all there.

May the festive season bring all you wish upon yourself and your loved ones.

Cheers

Peter

Peter, you are a Gent and a Scholar of the highest order! - I'm actually sitting here in London with a wee bit of a lump in my throat - no, nothing medical - purely emotional . . .

To EVERYONE here, have a pleasant and peaceful and enjoyable break.

Greetings!

Graham "Grazie" Bernard

Thank you Peter and a Very Merry Christmas to you and all who share this site. And thank you, too, to everyone for all the help I have received whether in response to my own questions or in reading other members' threads.

Good luck to everyone.

Great thoughts there Peter.
For once there's not much I can add other than, "stay safe" and if you live in the other half of the planet, I hope you keep warm enough this festive season.

Nicely stated.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season.

Merry Cristmas to all!

Mark, that was beautiful - that guy is a wonderful player!
Love his special tunings, and Deck the Halls in 5/4 is stunning!

Thanks for sharing these.

4/5 "Deck" has completely changed the emphasis of the song/tune.

Amazingly creative ..

Merry Christmas (drunk) and a Velly Happy New Year to you all.

Let me add my season's greetings, and just to be politically incorrect

"Merry Christmas"

GRAZIE, you can answer a burning question for me . . . .

What the heck do you do on Boxing Day? Beat the daylights out of somebody, or box things up until next year?

I could Google it, I suppose, but heck - we've got an online expert here.

Blackberry brandy - an early Christmas gift - is the answer to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Just want y'all to know that.

How come I never discovered this in my previous 59 years.

Blessings to all.

It was a way for the "rich" to feel better about the wage slaves, downtrodden and desperately poor that they themselves had created, by once a year going around to the "Alms House" with a selection of goodies in a "box". Now, how awful was that?

"Roll up, roll up!
On Hampstead Heath on Boxing Day this year, Grazie, formerly known as Bernard the Basher, will be in the ring takeing on allecomers from the many faire countief of our kingdom.

Tarry a while and bring your familef - One measly Farthing gets you into the Memberf' Enclosure.

How long will Grazie last?

Will he lose his title? - his female followerf? - his use of the Trimmer?
Does late night editing affect boxing performance?

To find out - Be there Boxing Day!"

Merry Christmas (or whatever holiday you choose to celebrate) and prosperous New Year to all

Grazie,

So as Hyacinth would say to Richard "A little something for that other class on Boxing Day. Let's take some to Daisy and Onslow in our travels - Mind the pedestrian, Dear"

Thanks to all of you who have generously and greatly enriched my knowledge throughout the years.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Actually, Plaso, no she wouldn't. Hy would ONLY do anything that would advance her social status. Giving to the poor, unless linked to some ingratiating in front of of a "personage" would NOT be on her agenda. In this way Hy is very transparently correct.

If she could avoid Onslow and her own sister more than she does, she would be very happy.

Yeah - she'd be most likely to visit her sister Violet "You know, the one with the pool, a sauna and room for a pony".

We'll probably watch the one tonight, when she gets poor Richard to dress up in the Father Christmas suit. "Spot of port, Richard" - sez Emmet.

We watched the Vicar of Dibley Christmas classics over the weekend.

Enjoy your holiday.

Merry Christmas to all who are part of this giving community.
I'm afraid I am one who mostly takes here.
Thanks to participants for their generous sharing of knowledge over the five years I've been part of this forum.
I know many others have benefited too.
While interviewing a 93 year old lady recently she said she learns something new every day.
After 6 decades I take comfort in knowing the learning never stops.
And, boxing day schmoxing day. It may have started with giving, but it has degenerated into greed and getting in the northern reaches of this western hemisphere.
But it doesn't have to be thus.
Blessings,
Peabody

There are many ways to lose your life, dying is just one of them.

When someone stops learning, what's the point of living?

My goal is to say on my death bed, "Aha! Now I finally know how to live a life properly!"

And then I'll close my eyes and never open them again. :O)

I'm grateful for all I have learned in this forum!

And I'm also grateful for what I have learned from the one whose name is often marked with an "X" when referring to the celebration tomorrow and for some time after (depending on the tradition, up to 20 days afterwards).

Anyway, Happy Druid Ritual! (if you can believe some historians)

I've had other life priorities over this past year (like moving to a nicer area and larger apartment).
Ergo little vid creation, less bugging you with my Qs.

But that doesn't stop me from wishing everyone here a...

Happy Holy Daze to All :o)
