What kind of Pinnacle card? A DV500 or a Miro DC30? In either case, the answer is, no, you can't.

John is right. The Pinnacle cards use proprietary drivers that only work with their software for analog capture. I have a Pinnacle Deluxe card with the blue breakout box that is just sitting in the box. I bought an ADS A/V Link for analog capture and output. I must say that the Pinnacle card is far superior to the ADS device for holding sync but Vegas integration is more important to me.

I figured as much, but I'd thought I'd ask. I've seen a lot about the PyroAV link as of late, I read of sink problems. How about the Canopus ADVC-100 or the ADVC-300 media converter? I read that these are considerede the best, but I've not seen anyone recommend them on the Vegas forum.

The ADVC-100 and 300 get recommended here all the time. In their price range, they are definitely the best. There are a LOT of people here using them.
