Seeing FX settings in preview while Video Event FX window is open

Steven-Rendell wrote on 8/14/2023, 4:13 PM

I just upgraded to Vegas Pro 21. When I add FX to a clip the changes I am making do not appear in the video preview window until I close the Video Event FX box. This isn't like the video FX bypass on the video preview because the changes do appear when I close out the Video Event FX box. I tried the split screen view in the video FX bypass, but the same thing, the changes won't appear on the side of the screen showing the FX until I close the Video Event FX box. The applied FX appears in the preview window as soon as I close the Video Event FX box but I cannot see the changes I am making until I close the box. Please tell me how to see the FX changes I am making in real time on the video preview. I have been using Vegas for a lot of years and been through a lot of versions and have never encountered this. I assume I have something set wrong, but I can't find how to fix this. Thanks.

This looks like a known problem with Nvidia drivers, but you did not tell anything about your used hardware

If you work on a laptop with a Nvidiacard read this and choose one of the solutions: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/problems-with-nvidia-driver-526-98--138196/

I am using a notebook with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060. The problem is clearly the driver because when I switch in preferences to Intel UHP Graphics the problem goes away. I haven't found the driver that fixes the NVIDIA problem yet but I will continue to try historic NVIDIA drivers until I find one that works. Thanks.

Therefore you need the "522.30-notebook-win10-win11-64bit-international-nsd-dch-whql" driver

Do click on the thread j-v provided. There's also a workaround that Howard posted in that thread so you can use the current driver.

522.30 worked. Thanks for the help.
