Seeking Color Balance Plugin

I'm looking for a color balance plugin for Vegas similar to the Sony fx, but that works independently on shadows, midtones, and highlights, as for example, the PS adjustment does.

HitFilm has a really nice color balance tool, but it's only available within their interface, not as a plugin for the Vegas timeline. Please let me know if there's anything like this out there...

As I understand the "need" of the style of the OP's plugin - I would not ask for any further pursuit along these lines - It is just really already a feature set partially already built into VegasPro13 release and not necessary to be over redundant in the practical operation phase.

BUT NOTE THIS -There is already even a better solution put out for VegasPro by Revision EFX - so don't bother pursuing others IMO.

IMHO Master the color curves. Throw it on a clip and play around with it. Understand how it works. It is about as powerful and simplistic as you can get to do the job you are looking for it to accomplish.

Boris Continuum Complete has a Color Match plug-ins that works independently on Lows, Mids, and Highs. It's also available in the Colors and Tone Continuum Unit. Here is my training on it from Boris TV:

yeah, CC is powerful and works per-channel in a logical way. But CB is fast and can produce subtler results with much less effort. I'm guessing the plugin is broken (in the sense that it has three independent targets but works globally across all of them regardless) but will never be fixed...

"IMHO Master the color curves."

Easier said than done. Learning the theory and nuances take years. As far as mastery, it is a lifelong process.
I started with Technicolor, inc. in 1969, and have studied under the best in the business. Now 66, I learned something new just the other day.

Talent rarely replaces experience.

I've found Color Curves extremely useful, but they are far from 'simplistic' and they're very difficult to master.

not sure if this helps, but you may want to look at:

it's given me pause for thought about a great deal of cc workflow, etc.,
