changed it to TRUE....still does not selct the audio when i select the video....thusly not letting me drag both up (or down) to new track at once...(without switching tools)
Clicking one, then Ctrl-clicking the other, then dragging doesn't work? Sounds like your Vegas installation has gotten hosed. You might want to consider reinstalling.
Nope, I think he's right. You cannor drag both the audio and video UP or DOWN to a new A/V pair at once as Vegas doesn't understand the concept of an A/V pair.

I’m not sure why you say this cannot be done, although I do understand that Vegas has no concept of an audio and video track being a pair. This has nothing to do with A/V pairs. You can Ctrl+Click any number of events and drag them in unison to alternate tracks. I just dragged and dropped audio and video from one pair of A/V tracks to another and it worked just fine. I can’t imagine why this isn’t working for JHendrix.
For example:
1. Insert two audio and two video tracks
2. Drag the tracks so they are Video (1), Audio (2), Video (3), Audio (4)
3. Drop an AVI file with audio and video onto the first pair of tracks (1+2)
4. Ctrl+Click both events and drag them down to the second pair of A/V tracks (3+4)
This should work fine. Both events should now be on tracks 3 & 4. Is this not working for you?
