Select everything either left or right of point in timeline or cursor

Just what the title says.

I continually find myself in the position where I would like to select everything to either the left or right of a certain point in the timeline. I've had a scan through the manual and I can't seem to find anything like this other than the "select events to end" option, but that only seems to deal with one track and in one direction.

It would be really cool if I could just place the cursor or the playhead line somewhere and push, maybe ctrl+right arrow and everything to the right of the cursor would be selected and vice versa for left.

If there is something like this and I've missed it I'd be most grateful if someone could inform me of it. Right now I'm having to zoom out and manually box select everything before or after the point I'm interested in, and often I can't get it accurate if it's a large edit.

Many thanks!

I'm using Vegas Pro 14 on a Windows machine.

Fancy a Script? These were made for exactly this. Maybe that these Scripts were Made kinda suggests we can't do it straight off of the bat.

*edited*

I have this combination acting in the very same manner in VP10, VP11, VP14, VP15 😵

Ctrl + Shift + End

or

Ctrl + Shift + Home

...Oh, this is unbearably hard to execute...

Yeah, and that's why I use the Apps instead.

Really good catch on my now Humble-Pied, Red-Faced know-it-all. 🙃

Here's interesting: I can't use/dedicate CTRL+SHIFT+END to a simple Keyboard Shortcut, it doesn't actually come up as already used - as it will do when used - does this mean it is already protected in some way?

Thanks for the replies folks.

Jam_One, those controls seem to simply take the playhead to the end or the start of the project. I'm looking to actively select what is on either side of the playhead's position wherever I place it.

Grazie, that looks much more what I'm looking for. I'm not sure how to implement scripts though. Where would one download them?

Besides of Excalibur or EventTools Fastapp... you can do that (and much more) with Vegasaur:

I have Vegasaur installed.
The mentioned functionality (Ctrl+Shift+ Home/End) is kept when the Vegasaur's DLL is removed from "Extensions" folder.

I don't know what else to say.
