"selected file not the required type"

I dl a video I wish to burn on to disc. When I "insert" media of the file it has the pop-up saying "selected file not the required type." I can play the vid and hear it on my computer, but it won't upload onto DVD ARtchitect. Do I need to dl a plug-in?

does that answer your question? I'm having trouble finding what the file's extension is. It's a 53 minute avi video 624 x 352

I don't think DVD Architect (or movie studio) work well (or at all) with avi files encoded with the XVID codec...i know i can add xvid-encoded videos into Movie Studio timelines, for instance, but it drops frames and exhibits other odd problems, although i can encode TO xvid in movie studio (why I don't know!).

So i would assume dvd architect won't handle raw xvid-encoded .avi files either.
