Selecting the right video clip for button image

My project is about an hour long. I have about 12 scene markers, and it gave me 6 buttons per scene selection menu, and two menus. So far so good. When I try to fine tune the exact clip to show on the button image to be a few seconds or a minute or so away from the marked starting point, the slider or arrow keys move in huge chunks at a time. The only way to get where I want seems to be trial and error typing in the time offset window.

Is there a setting anywhere that will adjust the granularity of movement for the slider or arrow keys?

Details Details, Please - Not a Blu-ray project? !!! Your source files type for the authoring process? Length of of segments for continuous video that has 6 chapters each?

Don't attempt these kind of projects in Version6.0 Revert to 5.0b.

This is a widescreen DVD project. Arch Studio 5 (build 178), Movie Studio 12 (build 334) using "Make Movie" process created 720x480 widescreen .mpg video files and .ac3 audio files as defaulted by Movie Studio and passed directly to Arch Studio.

I don't understand your "length of segments..." question. I have 12 chapter start points, including the very beginning, that resulted in 6 scenes or chapters per scene selection menu (2 of them). There are no end points for the individual chapters other than the end of the movie, these are just start points.

The slider to adjust the start point for the button's still image, or animation, to something other than the chapter marker point will move the clips seen from the very beginning of movie to the very end in very large steps.

You might find it easier to identify the desired frame on the timeline at the bottom of the screen. You can zoom in by dragging the beginning and end of the clip. Once you have found the frame you can right click on the clip in the project window and choose 'Set Thumbnail from View'.

Great answer. I had been getting the time stamp from the timeline and typing that in. The "set thumbnail" is much easier. Thanks.

Another way is to get approximately where you want to be with the slider then hold the Ctrl key down whilst moving the slider. This will give you frame resolution.
