Selecting transparent color

Hi I'm new with Vegas Video and perhaps this question have already be answered somewhere so please don't kill me.

I wan't to select a color as transparent color from a video to add a new background like for weather on TV most of the time it's in green and map appears.

Add the Chroma Key filter to the video clip. You can use the eyedropper tool to choose the color to become transparent. Place the picture/video clip you want for the new background on a track below the first clip.
