Selection and Grouping Weirdness

I was having a play with the new Pre-Release last night,
and have found the strangest inconsistencies in selection
across multiple tracks - for example, if a time selection
across multiple tracks has been made, and the selection
edit tool is on, no combination of key modifiers can make
events deselected when a range is click and dragged.

If the cursor is in a particular location and all tracks
are selected (Via the track fader section on the left of
screen), a split command will sometimes split all tracks
and sometimes split some or none?!?

If a time range across multiple tracks is selected and made
into a group, deselecting all events and moving one event
results in some of the items in the group moving and not
others, and if the Select All in Group (I'm not sure that's
what it's called) function from the Group menu is used it
crashes Vegas.

All of this could be me, as the selection techniques are
beyond me - it seems like Vegas does exactly what I don't
want it to do, and never what I do want it to. Selecting
within tracks is easy, but across multiple tracks and
events it's a nightmare. I mean, what are there, four
different selection states??

I haven't had time to see whether this behaviour is project
specific, but the project this is occuring on is a project
from Vegas Pro that has been imported into Audio.

David -
I can't repro any of the behavior you're talking about...

sorry.

It seems to be one particular project that does this - a project
imported from Vegas Pro. I think that the groups that were defined in
Pro were not correctly imported into 2.0 and as a result grouping and
selections are doing the strangest things.
