Selective thumbnail generation.

Good morning everyone, I would like to know if there is a way to temporarily turn off thumbnail generation for some tracks while letting it turned on for others. It would be useful when in the same project I have 5 or 6 one hour long tracks. Although my computer isn't a week one, I don't always need to overload it and slow down Vegas with thumbnails to load on every track permanently.

Thank you for your answers.

The only way is to minimize the track height of these ones you don't want to display thumbnails.

I think it is an either or, but you can make it display only the beginning and ending thumbnail for each track. Again, it is all or nothing though

It seems so. Well thanks. Maybe minimized track thumbnails are better than big ones. But still, it's not easy to work with that many active tracks. I just did a wrong split by mistake (spitted all the tracks at cursor instead of splitting a single one), and it took 2 minutes to cancel my action (Vegas freezes) because of these annoying thumbnails. Yet I need every single one of these thumbnails to work correctly, just not necessarily on every track at once.

Magic could think of something.

If you minimize a track there will be no thumbnails at all.

Strange... When I click on the hamburger on a track and choose "minimize" I get a very thin track with short thumbnails. It's pretty small but they're here, and they continue to regenerate themselves all the time like normally sized ones. (I'm using Vegas pro 17).

Just go into preferences and reduce the number of thumbs shown on all tracks, should help with performance issues while still letting you keep some thumbs.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the Event Headers must be turned on to work the way I described. If Event Headers are turned on and a track is minimized there will be no thumbnails in the Events of minimized tracks.

Edit : Alright got it : View / Event headers.
Thanks a lot Marco !

You can also use the Event's hamburger menü to switch the mode and to have an icon for switching the mode on top of the Events.
