Self Containing Files

I need a way to self contain my files. Please help.

When I start a project, I dump all my m2t files into one folder named video. I then view them all and use which angles I like and so on. Then I add pictures from here, sounds from here, titles from here. While I am fairly organized, there are still a ton of files that are not used and just end up taking space. Well, I want to take care of that.

Does Vegas offer the ability to "self contain" a file. This is to say, can I have Vegas export a file that contains all media included in the make-up of the project so that I can back it up easily without having to worry about missing a file or saving too many?

Thanks.

With regular footage (DV-AVI), you have the option, when doing a Save As to Copy and trim media with project. I'm not sure if this will work with m2t files though.
As I recall, you also have to copy any stills, music, sound FX and graphics that were created outside of Vegas.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here.

I think you can also remove all items from the project bin that are not being used.

...remove all items from the project bin that are not being used.

You sure can. That's what the lighting bolt icon (Remove All Unused Media From Project) at the top left of the Project Media tab is for.

Save As with trimmed media will save everything you need to render the project again. I found the trimming feature to be hit or miss... or at least I have not broke the code. Some event items get trimmed to spec but others don't get trimmed at all. But in the end it does save duplicate copies of all media to the specified folder with the veg.
