I'm also interested. At $100, and considering I've been using the product for a while and figured out a huge amount of things on my own, I still need to learn more. I'm not sure if this is a "beginner" type course or it covers all the advanced things I'd like to know, as well as some shortcuts to what I am doing which take a long time.
If anyone has purchased this, could you let us new and intermediate users know if it is worth the price for what it covers?
It's pretty good stuff. If you saw the streams that Jay and Liam put up from the SCVUG, it's the same stuff, just better production. It's mostly aimed at newcomers to Vegas, but does have some advanced stuff.
FWIW, there's also the VASST series, with 2 introductory DVDs, one for Vegas 5 and one for DVD Architect. Both come with a lot of extras such as veg files, MPEG backgrounds, and other stuff. http://www.videoguys.com/VASST.html
Gary Kleiner's beginning DVDA is another resource. Edward Troxel and Tim Duncan have done an update DVD to my Vegas set from COD as well. It's about the same thing as the VASST FASST DVD for those upgrading from Vegas XXX to Vegas 5.
Thanks Spot, (that's the name of my cat, btw lol). I'm just hesitant to drop $100 on something that may not teach me anything I don't already know. I just really dont know what I am going to get for my money.
If I buy it and don't learn anything, can I return it? ;-))
Thanks Gary. I bought the Sony one, but haven't had time to go through it yet. If I need a more advanced one, I'd appreciate user reponses (not sellers, please) so I can get an objective opinion, However I'll keep yours in mind. It's very hard to tell which training products offer what when everyone says theirs is better :-
Sorry also for belated responses, I only come here to post questions and check for replies, about every 2 mos. or so.
I have a few of Spot's DVDs and they are great. I had been using Vegas 4 for about 6 - 8 months when I first viewed it and have learned new things each time I've watched it. I have not seen Gary's dvd but I saw him present on the VASST tour and he explains things very well and I again learned things about DVDA that I didn't know. So....which one should you buy? For sure, you'll get more for your Benjamin with either Spot's or Gary's set than the Sony dvd. I refer back to Spot's often, and I haven't seen Gary's. So, that's my .02..
