SemiOT: Web Videos

Hi all,
I would like to embed a Flash video player into an HTML website. Easy enough right?

But here's what I would like to do with it. Have it have three or more videos loaded up in it. Then have hyperlinks in the text (below the player) that start a specific video.

Is this possible? Are there any apps that make it easier?

I have Flash Pro and Dreamweaver CS3, but my action script skills are non-existant.

Thanks

Yep. Blip.tv will let you do this.

You can play your whole reel in the order you specify, or give links to each individual video. Just embed their player and let them host it. You can even link back to or embed the original video in its original format. The limit is 1 gig per file but no limit on the amount of uploads. They also have a pro account that gives you more options.

I like it and use it for all of my online videos.

Sorry, I just reread your post. You can't provide links in the text to the video to make it start in the same player but there are two options that may give you what you want. You can add a sidebar (in the player itself) that gives thumbnails and titles of the vids and if someone clicks it, it will start playing that video in the same player. Option two is that you can add links like you want in the text but it will bring up a new page with a different player.

They are real easy to talk to and very responsive to feedback so you might want to see if this is a feature they would incorporate.

Thanks J razz,
I'll check out Blip.tv. I was trying to avoid playlists or multiple pages, but I may end up going the latter route if nothing else comes up!

Blip.tv did email me back, said it would work but would need some Java scipting! Gulp!

Anyone know of any other player out there that could do it? Basically have a playlist that can be controlled by text links somewhere else on the page.

Doesn't have to be free either, just needs to work and not require a degree to figure out!

Thanks
