do i have to reinstall plugins for v9 if i'm installing alongside v8?

i thought there was a shared directory?

i ask cause i'm installing in both old pc with v8, and new i7 before i decide to retire old pc - but i have some projects on the old one i'd like to test out and they have various plugins on the t/l
