I have dual monitors and I want to unlock the screens so I can have the timeline on one monitor and the output monitor on the second screen. How do I unlock it?
The timeline seems to be part of the base window. All of the stuff above the timeline can be undocked and moved individually. So it appears you'd need to undock everything above the timeline and create new docks as desired on the second screen.
Does the button by the preview window to output full screen to a second window not do what you want? If not, undock as jetdv says.
There's also another option to achieve this, (unfortunately it's momentary not possible to upload a screenshot.)
Look at preferences/display/automatically hide docking area.
