Separating Audio from Video

Hello, I'm in a bit of pickle.

I imported a video with no audio for purpose of having commentary over it. unfortunately the muted audio that Vegas Pro gave to the video completely mutes my commentary.

Is there a way remove the audio file attached to the video so it doesn't contrast with the commentary?

thanks in advance c:

Select the Audio or Video Event and press U for Ungroup and Delete the Audio, if that’s what you want? The problem I’ve got is that you say you’ve muted the Audio Track but are still hearing sound?

A few different ways to accomplish this.

1. You can just 'mute' the track with the unwanted sound or lower the volume to 0dB

2. Delete the unwanted audio track.

3. Ungroup or 'Ignore event grouping' command,; select the events, ('Edit> Group> Remove' or 'U' keyboard shortcut) and delete the unwanted audio event. (select> delete or right-click and delete.

In any case the embedded audioin the video is not really gone, just hidden and not played.
