Separating audio from video

I have some digital footage that through prior rendering, the audio does not sync up with the video. How can I separate the audio from the video so I can shift it to line up? Also, if you have a better suggestion to resolve the issue, I would love to hear that too! Thanks.

Select one or more events in the timeline, and press U (for Ungroup).
