Seperate Audio?

Hi, I imported a video from a camcorder. I am in the editing process. Is it possible to to remove the audio in certain areas? I don't want to mute the entire volume, I just want to either remove it, or have the volume lowered in parts of the clip.? I thougth about doing them seperately and then join them in SM but that seems like an extra which may be avoided.

You can use audio "evelopes" to mute or to reduce the volume of a clip in certain areas.

I remember quite a few threads on this forum with good instructions on how to do this. Otherwise, you could search the program's help for "evelopes" and it shoud give you some specifics.

Or you could split the event and delete the audio you don't want. I can't think of any advantage to doing this unless you're short of audio tracks, but it's an option.
